We decided to go for a visit as we passed through on our way to Redding California. My Great Great Uncle is our family historian and he knows everything! Did you know that I have ancestors that came to the US on the Mayflower?<\/p>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n<p>His name was Governor William Bradford. Here is some neat information on him:<\/p>\n<p><b>William Bradford<\/b> (March 19, 1590 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c May 9, 1657) was an English leader of the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Separatism#Religious\">Separatist<\/a> settlers of the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Plymouth_Colony\">Plymouth Colony<\/a> in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Massachusetts\">Massachusetts<\/a>, and was elected thirty times to be the Governor after <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/John_Carver\">John Carver<\/a> died. He was the second signer and primary architect of the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mayflower_Compact\">Mayflower Compact<\/a> in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Provincetown_Harbor\">Provincetown Harbor<\/a>. His journal (1620\u00e2\u20ac\u201c47), was published as <i><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Of_Plymouth_Plantation\">Of Plymouth Plantation<\/a><\/i>.
