I got a visit from my grandpa today…its always great to see him and I sure do love him. Thanks grandpa for coming to my house for a short visit, I know how much the cats bother your breathing…maybe that means that I need more short notice visits to your house! 🙂 My mommy and daddy can even bring dinner!

Visiting Redding California

Posted in Uncategorized | 1 Comment »

Mommy, Teresa & Cierra decided that it was a great idea to drive all the way down to Redding California for Cierra’s mid-winter break. I could tell that mommy was a bit stressed about the whole idea of driving 13 hours with me but I surprised her and I was GREAT! We broke the trip up and stayed at grandma Mina’s house the first night (Sat Feb 13th)…she took us out to a great Mexican dinner and Cierra got to explore the basement. Thanks grandma for letting all of us stay, we always love to see you!

The next day we were off for our long adventure to Redding. On the way we stopped to see Great Uncle Dick (pictures are on post before) in Albany, he told us some fun family history. The best part was getting to meet him for the first time, I sure do love him! After Uncle Dick’s house we were off for real…the whole trip took us 10 hours and I was only awake the last 2 hours, except of course when mommy fed me. Oh yea, I must mention, Cierra was great to travel with, she figured out the secret to making me sleep and she took care of me the whole time. Thanks Cierra, you were a super help to my mommy, she couldn’t have done it without you!

Mommy was kind of lazy this trip and didn’t take many pictures, but here are the few that she did take.

IMG_4011

Auntie Linda (Teresa’s Mom) gave me a bath and enjoyed every minute of it! Then she went and lotioned me all up and I screamed at her the whole time…sorry for wrecking that part Auntie Linda…I was SUPER tired!

IMG_4013

IMG_4016

A visit with Uncle Bob (Rob’s dad)…I think he was checking out how long mommy let my nails get, they were my weapons for awhile…don’t mess with me!

IMG_4018

IMG_4047 Auntie Sherry (Rob’s mom) got lots of snuggle time in with me the second time we went to visit at their house. Thanks so much for the yummy dinner you made my mommy, Teresa & Ceirra!

IMG_4023

Grandpa Herb (Teresa’s grandpa) was super fun to play with, he made me laugh a lot! He even held me but mommy didn’t get a picture of it because I was overtired and I started to scream on him. He promptly gave me back to mommy after that.

IMG_4043

This is grandma Fay (Teresa’s grandma) she is super sweet and we loved to hang out with her. She made everyone lunch, had tea time with the girls and even helped Auntie Teresa cut off all the feet on my jammies and sew them up. Thanks so much for the visit, we sure enjoyed your company!

IMG_4031

IMG_4033

This is Grandma Pony (Rob’s grandma) she is 92 years old. I enjoyed eating her sunglasses and she even let me gobber them all up. I’m glad that I got to spend some time with her and that she was able to hold me. Mommy told Auntie Teresa that Grandma Pony was the most important to go visit and that was the only way she would do the trip.

IMG_4036

Cierra was getting riding lessons from the lady next door, she was looking pretty good!

IMG_4044

IMG_4045

This is Cierra’s grandma Corky (David’s mom – Cierra’s biological dad), she hasn’t seen her in awhile and it was a great visit.

IMG_4049

Auntie Linda on the last night we stayed at their house, she gave me the most fabulous foot rubs, as you can see I’m enjoying it a whole lot! I wish she lived closer so she could do that every night!

Jen playing with Addison, they were having a great time, I can’t wait for mommy and daddy to be able to play with me this way!

IMG_4051

Addison was as tired as I was, she sure was cute though! She really wanted to play with me and liked to pet me.

IMG_4060

Auntie Linda’s stray chicken…it has taken up residence under the porch.

IMG_4069

We stopped in Weed, CA on the way home for some gas, Mt. Shasta is behind Auntie Teresa and I.

IMG_4074

My future’s so bright…I gotta wear shades…

Thanks everyone for the visit, we enjoyed it so much and can’t wait to do it again.

My Great Great Uncle

IMG_4002

This is my mommy’s Great Uncle on her daddy’s side, his name is Richard ‘Dick’ Milligan and he lives in Albany, OR. We decided to go for a visit as we passed through on our way to Redding California. My Great Great Uncle is our family historian and he knows everything! Did you know that I have ancestors that came to the US on the Mayflower?

His name was Governor William Bradford. Here is some neat information on him:

William Bradford (March 19, 1590 – May 9, 1657) was an English leader of the Separatist settlers of the Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts, and was elected thirty times to be the Governor after John Carver died. He was the second signer and primary architect of the Mayflower Compact in Provincetown Harbor. His journal (1620–47), was published as Of Plymouth Plantation. Bradford is credited as the first to proclaim what popular American culture now views as the first Thanksgiving.

If only you knew all my cool family history, I can’t wait until I get older and can read all the books that Uncle Dick has given to my mommy!

Thanks for the visit Uncle Dick, we sure do love you tons!

No more cast!

Effective today, February 1st, 2010, I will begin training for the U.S. Olympic snowboarding team!  The Doctors said my final casting went perfectly, and now I have these totally radical new shoes and brace.  I get to wear this all day, every day, for three months.  Then I will only wear it at night and nap-times for the next four years.  Won’t be too bad!

Look for me at the 2030 Olympics!

Visiting the Shepherds in Tuscon

IMG_3458

Our airplane ride was the most scary thing mommy and daddy have ever been on! The pilot said to hold your infants tight because there may be some turbulence…he wasn’t joking! We went every direction possible. When we finally landed the whole plane clapped, mommy was shaking and teary eyed and daddy was hoping to not use the barf bag. As you can see, I didn’t move a muscle and slept the entire time. Oh yea, they closed the airport after we landed, thank goodness!

IMG_3461

Daddy was entertaining me…

IMG_3463

…help!

IMG_3465

My Auntie Renee…I sure do love her!

IMG_3468

Auntie Renee made daddy come eat breakfast with everyone…she put the big comfy oversized chair in the kitchen for me to sleep on. She thinks of everything!

IMG_3472

Uncle Dave, can I look at pictures on your phone?

Oliver is very into watching Carter!

IMG_3473

Smile Camden!

IMG_3474

A visit to Biosphere 2 http://www.b2science.org/ I was so tired I snoozed the whole time. Roma’s hat kept me nice and warm – it was very windy and cold, we even saw some snow that was blowing over from the mountains.

IMG_3476

Auntie Renee and Carter checking out what they could see through the telescope.

IMG_3480

My what a big eye you have Auntie Renee!

IMG_3478

The Shepherds! What a cute family!

IMG_3496

Camden running around, he was having so much fun, but both boys had 2 left feet and kept crashin’ & burnin’!

IMG_3495

Snow in the mountains, this happened overnight!

IMG_3521

Inside the Biosphere, exploring while waiting for our tour to start.

IMG_3525

The cans above contained water. During the Cold War, the US govn’t stockpiled enough water to serve the 50-60 million “shelterees” expected to take refuge in the community fallout shelters. Water was stored in 17.5 gallon steel drums designed to service five individuals for two weeks (one quart per person per day).  Small cans of water were also stored in “safe” govn’t locations for use by military and civilian personnel.

IMG_3527 IMG_3530

Some of the Biosphere, we discovered lemon trees in here.

IMG_3546

One of the “Lungs”

IMG_3563

Inside the Biosphere, this is where the ocean was, all of this water was trucked in (over a million or so gallons) and it included a coral reef.

IMG_3567

Above the rocks are the mangrove trees, these were brought in from Florida…on the way to the Biosphere they happened to get stuck in customs because someone though they were mango trees.

IMG_3634

More snow! The mountains were covered by the time we came out of our tour. We had a great time and look forward to going back next time we come to visit.

IMG_3640

Ladies… (Carter, I’ll be sure to get rid of this picture so mommy and daddy can’t show your first girlfriend)

IMG_3645

Time for a trolley ride. The trolley we rode on was from Japan and was purchased for $800, however it cost $2,300 to ship over from Japan. Oops!

IMG_3647

How could you not love that adorable face!

IMG_3654

Once again, here I am sleeping, I love my Moby Wrap!
